Hi Jeff and Laura,

We just wanted to update
you on Diesel. He is
getting big and his walk is
still goofy, but he's full of
energy and from day
one loved us and our
other dog Alie. They
are together all the time.
He's getting more and
more adventurous, but
is still afraid of the vacuum
and when a car backfires. :)
He is so smart and
learning very fast.
Hopefully he will be the hunting dog Jarred was hoping for, but
until then his energy keeps both of us and Alie in shape. Thank
you so much for all the information you gave us through the
process. We've actually recommending you to several families
when we take walks and they comment on Diesel. I've included
a picture of Diesel and Alie. It was taken shortly after we first
brought him home. Thank you again for everything. We love
him so much and was a perfect addition to our little family.

Good morning

I finally have pictures of
Amber to send you. She has grown and she
settled in just after a few days. She is a hunter, we had wild rabbits on our
property and she chases them. So now we don't have anymore to deal
with. We love her very much.

Laura & Jeff,

Rock at four months old. His training has been proceeding extremely well.  He will sit and stay with voice or hand signals.
He will also sit and come by whistle. We have been practicing short retrieving sessions with training dummies only. Last
week I started working on doubles. Probably to early but he will pick the closest return and retrieve the next on command,
no blind retrieves.

These are some wonderful email messages we have received from our new friends who obtained
Desert Wind Labrador puppies:
TOMAH IS NO LONGER THE 75 POUND LANKY SPAZ     THAT HE WAS
IN THE LAST PHOTOS OVER THE SUMMER.   HE IS  NOW A VERY WELL
FILLED-OUT 105 POUND SEMI-SPAZ WITH A BEAUTIFUL BROWN COAT.
HIS MOTHER WAS QUITE SUPRISED WHEN HE REACHED UP TO TAKE
A PIECE OF MEAT OFF THE KITCHEN COUNTER WITH ALL FOUR PAWS
STILL ON  THE GROUND.

THAT ALSO  EXPLAINS THE  PICTURE OF HIM IN HIS 'TIME-OUT'
CORNER.AS YOU CAN SEE HE IS QUITE A HAM FOR THE CAMERA.
 THE
INTERNET IS ACTING UP SO I WILL HAVE TO SEND THESE AS MULTIPLE
EMAILS - SORRY. FEEL FREE TO ADD THEM TO YOUR ONLINE PHOTO
ALBUM!

Hi Jeff and Laura,

This season we are truly thankful for Scout.
I'm sorry I haven't sent you updates before
now, but want you to know how blessed we
are to have her.  She has such a great spirit.
She loves people and everyone comments
about her beauty, expressive eyes, and gentle
nature.  She has enriched our lives and is
teaching my boys a lot of good lessons in how
to care for her responsibly and graciously.
he is a great addition to our family and we
dearly love her.

Scout enjoyed her summer in her new home on the Little Spokane River.  She had a
great summer going daily with my boys to their daycare on a 60 acre horse ranch
where she became friends with the nine horses, 2 dogs and many barn cats. She
now has a best friend next door, her name is Maggie, a 6 month old Labradoodle.
They spend much of their time running the property and playing in the river together,
then inside to lay by the fire and be with the family.  :-)

I play in a bluegrass band called Wild Oats and Scout was invited to be apart of our
photo shoot for our band promo posters.  I'm sending a photo we took with her.  She
is very photogenic. :-)  I'm also sending some other photos I thought you might enjoy.

Have a blessed holiday season.
The Standleys :-)
Baci Is doing great adjusting to new home.  He is a
smart little puppy.  Taking to crate pretty well and I
already have got him sitting and staying most of the
time.  I did take him in to his first vet visit yesterday... He
sure is smart.  He slept through the night last night
(pretty awesome on his 4th night away from home) and
accidents are few and far between.  He is already sitting
on command most of the time and we are working on
“stay”.  Here is a picture for your collection.

Best regards,
Marc
Good News!

Many of you know that we have been waiting for several months for our puppy!  We are so
excited to welcome
Nicki into our family!  She is sweet, mellow and very lovable.  She
already knows how to "sit".  And we think she will be a good bird dog as she is already
chasing the pheasant wing Chris bought at Cabella's!

Nicki will be 12 weeks old this week.

Hello!

Good to hear from you.
Hawks is doing
amazingly well. We taught him to sit and
come when we call his name- that's a lot for
only having him for a week! He is the
sweetest puppy. Hawks follows us around,
always by our sides, and loves to cuddle.
Puppy Kindergarten starts tomorrow
afternoon so he will be learning and playing
with lots of puppies. The class is for 10-18
week old puppies, so they will all be around
his age and size. I attached a picture of Nate,
Hawks and me. Let me know that you receIve
the picture!

Hello to you Laura and Jeff.

I thought I would send you an updated photo of
Kenai so you know how
big and healthy she has become.  It is tough for us to see that
small puppy that we had not so long ago grow into the very well built
dog before our eyes.  My wife Kristine and I
cannot praise you enough on how well bred
your dogs are.  We have talked many times
on getting her a companion from your litters
sometime in the future.

Thank you again for such a joy in our life and a
great companion.

Take care,

The Nicholls
Last week we went to the lake for his first swim. After some encouragement and
splashing on my part he was in and swimming. I should have stopped but wanted
to see if he would retrieve. We started close to shore and he bounded in. The next
toss was just far enough to swim. Each time he returned with a retrieve to hand.
On the third throw I tossed it about 50'. Rock retrieved it to my amazement.

I couldn't have asked for a dog with a better disposition and ability to learn. I'll try
and take some action photos.

Take care,

D Giusti
Thought I would send you a couple pics of
Louie. He is great. We are working on the potty
on the floor but the poo has been all outside.
When he sleeps he is just dead weight. You can
move him wherever and he just keeps sleeping.
Super funny.

Hi Jeff and Laura,

I hope you are both doing well. I think of you so often and
am so happy I found you.
Marly (chocolate girl) is such a
joy and her and Gus just LOVE each other. We love having
them a part of our family.

Molly Schoenbachler

Cooper has been absolutely great and we just love him! He
has his 1st vet appointment tomorrow so he can get his 2nd
set of shots and check-up. He also has his first day of puppy
training tomorrow as well! So it will be a big day for him...and us!

Cajun
is doing great, she had to grow up fast
since I had to put my GWP down do to cancer.
She did not last as long as I thought she would.

Cajun is heeling on the leash and sitting when I
stop, dragging the light weight check cord
around and sometimes carrying it my mouth.
She loves it when I get it out because she
knows she is going out on a field trip.  We do
practice come with the dog whistle and tone
button on the collar already.

She loves to come on the whistle and comes
verbally also.  She is still a puppy and looks at
me and smiles sometimes.

She is kennel trained, and that is home during
the day and spends time in the crate in the am
for a hour or so until my roommate gets up and
takes her to the kennel.  That way she is getting
used to both.

Oh by the way we went for her first boat ride on
the Snake River last weekend and while pulling
the boat up she went swimming and so we
retrieved the ball four or five times and called it
quits.  She has her wading pool so we can
practice retrieving the dummy from the water.

She is a good dog and is at the terrible two's
now, loves to chew everything.

Wanted to send you a couple of pictures also.

Jeff and Laura,

magically puts a smile on everyone's face!

Congratulations on the 2 new litters, VERY
CUTE!!!   We'll be back for another(Donna already
has a name picked!)

Best Regards,
John and Donna
